WELL, with the Maroons wresting the State of Origin Shield back to its rightful place, it's now time for another champion Queensland act to take centre stage and do what it does best, year after year.
I'm talking about the Queensland Garden Expo that kicked off for its 31st year in Nambour this morning. This is Queensland's biggest and best gardening event, attracting 35,000-plus visitors from all corners of the country as well as New Zealand.
Regardless of whether or not you're a "green thumb", the garden expo really is one of those must-see events that has so much to see, touch and taste - you're guaranteed to love it.
I'll be there to help officially open the expo this morning and I look forward to seeing
plenty of locals lapping up everything it has to offer.

The garden expo won't be the only reason for the bigger-than-usual Kiwi contingent
in town this weekend.
The New Zealand Gridiron team is here to battle it out with Australia for a berth at the
upcoming World Cup.
It kicks off at 2pm at Sunshine Coast Stadium and it's sure to be a beauty.
