THERE'LL be no Lucy in the sky and probably not many diamonds, but you'll feel like you've got kaleidoscope eyes when The Swisse Color Run hits Sunshine Coast Stadium again.
Mark October 11 in your calendars because The Color Run will return, and Division 8 councillor and tourism and events portfolio holder Jason O'Pray says Coast families should be buzzing for the "single-greatest family fun event on the Coast".
After attracting a massive 14,500 entrants in its first year, The Color Run dipped a little in entries last year, but Cr O'Pray said it was on the cards to draw close to 10,000, again this October.
"These are bucket-list items for a lot of people," Cr O'Pray said.
It marks a massive month of October for the Coast, with the Caloundra Music Festival, The Color Run and Wanderlust about to provide locals and visitors with a whole host of entertainment.
With the Coast on track to rake in more than $48 million in returns from the events slated, Cr O'Pray said the region's reputation as a leading events host came down to a number of factors.
"Firstly we are targeting events that are Sunshine Coast appropriate," he said.
"We're the regional centre leader of hosting these events."
You can support a local charity and head to your nearest Op Shop to kit up.
"We would be more than delighted to help people with that (finding clothes for The Color Run)," Sunshine Coast Community Hospice Op Shop store manager Rochelle Allen said.
