Thousands set to watch Cold Chisel
ICONIC rock band Cold Chisel is set to draw in a crowd of 15,000 at Sunshine Coast Stadium tonight.
The Coast will be the eighth stop of 36 on the Light the Nitro Tour 2011. Frontman for the band, Jimmy Barnes was in high spirits ahead of the show and said to expect a great, fun-filled concert.
"We've just played fantastic shows across northern Australia and we look forward to tearing the Sunshine Coast to pieces," he said.
Stockland Park events and operations manager Simon Ball said workers had been busy setting up.
A process that includes putting up the Cold Chisel's enormous set that takes five days to build and setting up the bar and food areas is on schedule.
Mr Ball said about 13,000 tickets had been sold yesterday, but there was no doubt last-minute ticket buyers would help organisers reach the capacity crowd of 15,000.
A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the gate.
