After a summer stint in New Zealand with Team Wellington, the 31-year-old may make his first appearance of the NPL Queensland season for Redlands in the round seven clash.
Many Fire followers would know what to expect of the Frenchman, who starred for their team in 2012 and 2013, propelling the side to a championship in the latter season.
"Nico is a game changer. He could win games on his own if he wants to," Fire coach Paul Arnison said.
"(But) we know Nico. The players have played with him and against him so we'll know his strengths and his weaknesses and it's up to us to keep him quiet."
Bechar, who was trialled by the Brisbane Roar in 2013, linked with Red
lands early last year after he was let go by the Fire due to a quota on imported players.
Players at the Fire still keep in contact with him and they say he may lace up today if he is fit.
"We'll go in with the mindset that he will be playing because if you think he's not playing and he ends up playing, you might get distracted," Arnison said.
It may be up to defender Tim Hollingworth to keep Bechar, who has had stints at Belgian club Anderlecht and English club Reading, out of the action.
A former Fire player, Hollingworth was with Noosa last year but returned to Bokarina this campaign.
"He's been doing really well to convert from a winger to a right back," Arnison said of the 22-year-old.
"Defensively he's strong and he's scored as well."
The Fire is fifth on a 12-team ladder after winning its past two games, including an impressive 3-1 victory over defending champion Palm Beach at Sunshine Coast Stadium last weekend.
"The determination and willingness to go the extra yard for each other is great to watch and great to see developing," Arnison said of his relatively new-look youthful squad.
Tenth-placed Redlands is yet to win a match, but has lost by only a goal on several occasions.
