SUNSHINE Coast Sea Eagles captain Callum Klein is expecting fringe player Tien Nguyen to have a breakout year in 2014. Nguyen debuted for the Sea Eagles last August against Tweed Heads and impressed greatly in scoring a double in his first game. He played another three games in the latter part of last season before returning to the Bribie Island Sea Eagles to help them in their finals campaign.
The gangly centre had an outstanding end to last season to help his side reach the Sunshine Coast Gympie Rugby League grand final, which it lost to Kawana. It was his debut, however, that impressed Klein, who said he believed Nguyen was destined to become a force for the Sea Eagles.
"He scored a double on debut and you always remember those things," he said. Nguyen, 21, has made an impression on the Sea Eagles players and coaching staff alike. Klein said he expected Nguyen's game to go to another level under Sea Eagles coach and former Broncos mentor Ivan Henjak.
