The Sunshine Coast Pineapples were content with a semi-final showing at the National Youth Championships at Bokarina's Stockland Park yesterday.
After claiming some impressive results during the tournament, the talented under-18 girls' team was eliminated with an 11-6 loss to New South Wales Combined High Schools.
"It was a good effort," key player Chloe Crotty said.
"We all gave 100% and played well as a team but they (NSWCHS) were just a better team today."
Queensland Fire defeated NSWCHS 8-6 in the girls' final while NSWCHS beat Queensland Fire 6-5 in the boys' under-18 decider.
After showing plenty of promise as a junior, Caboolture's Crotty, 18, is hoping for a breakthrough year in the sport in 2014.
She will compete for The Outlaws - a side made up of players from north Queensland, central Queensland and the Sunshine Coast - in the national touch league.
"And from there you can get picked in the Australian squad, so hopefully it all goes well," she said.
