On Friday night he was making match-winning plays for the Brisbane Broncos, but that never stopped hard man Matt Gillett from doing his bit for Falcons Footy for Kids of Different Abilities.
The Bribie Island junior and noted good guy of rugby league has been the program's biggest public supporter and was on hand for the second session of the year at Bokarina yesterday.
Falcons Footy has come a long way in the four years since its inception. Starting with a core group of 20 in 2013, there are 50 children enrolled this year.
"I was talking to one mum after the Falcons game yesterday who told me this was the first time her boys had been able to play a sport outside of school and within their community.
"It's all about that inclusion and giving every child a chance to play ... not just rugby league, but a team sport.”
Hoffman said she never had to ask Gillett to come along.
"He always contacts us and asks when the next day is and when he can help,” she said.
"Last year he came up four times. He's fantastic with the kids. They absolutely love him. We're really lucky to have such an amazing ambassador for our program.”
