Sea Eagles stars including Daly Cherry-Evans, Tom Symonds, Matt Ballin and the Trbojevic brothers have agreed to strip off for a charity fundraiser on Thursday night — but only if it sells out.
The Ladies of Manly have employed the boys to serve food and drinks at a special screening of the Magic Mike sequel at United Cinemas Warriewood.
Money raised from the night will go to the family of Sunshine Coast Falcons rugby league player James Ackerman, who tragically died after an on-field incident last month.
Shannan Ballin, wife of Sea Eagles hooker Matt Ballin is organising the event with Jemma Hilliger, partner of forward Tom Symonds.
Ballin admitted some of his teammates were hesitant about taking their shirts off but they were determined to do whatever it took to raise cash.
“Hopefully, we can get some support and get the shirts off,” he said. “We have been training hard in the gym.
“We are all going to be competing against each other. Obviously, the cause is the motivation.”
Mrs Ballin said the Ladies of Manly wanted to do something after hearing about the death of Sunshine Coast Falcons prop James Ackerman.
“It felt a bit close to home,” she said.
“The guys promised if we sell all the tickets they will waiter shirtless,” she said.
“They need a bit of encouragement.”
