Get to know local legend, Laura Langman! 

The fact Langman played 141 consecutive games for the Silver Ferns speaks for itself. Captain or vice-captain of various teams, her experience will be invaluable to the Lightning during their first season.She also knows what it takes to win, having been a gold and silver medallist of World or Commonwealth Games campaigns!  So, what makes a champion? Best food for fuel: Cereal and yoghurt! 

Pre-game ritual: Ninja nap, power hit in the gym, coffee

Training tip: Be as strong as you are big.  Train the way you want to play

Most memorable career momentAny grand final I have played in.  The pressure and atmosphere are surreal!

What do you do in your down-time: Snowboarding, Pilates, triathlons, movies, coffee and food with friends

Advice to young players interested in getting into the game: It is not what we do, it is how we react that is the true measure of character and heart!

Favourite quote: Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win occasionally... you don't do things right occasionally... you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit.
