From Friday August 4 to Sunday 6, beautiful Lake Kawana will be home to the 2017 Eddie Cowell Perpetual trophy regatta for One Meter radio controlled yachts, hosted by Club Kawana Radio Yachting. As part of the formation of a new sailing club based on the Sunshine Coast, it was decided that the Club Kawana required an event to put them on the map and bear the name of an outstanding contributor in the sport of radio sailing in Queensland.
There are 50 entries for the regatta with sailors coming travelling internationally from Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand as well as all regions across Australia in the honour of Eddie Cowell for his outstanding contribution to the sport.
Racing will commence at 9:30am each day on Lake Kawana with an open invitation to spectators to come and witness Australia’s best one meter radio controlled sailing.
