The local Intrust Super Cup side took on Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in Redlands yesterday afternoon.
After a sluggish start, down 16-0 at half-time, the Falcons hit back, winning the second half, but it was not enough as the Seagulls ran out 23-10 winners.
Missing inspirational skipper Tom Murphy's workrate in the middle of the park, the Falcons were unable to sustain pressure on the Seagulls' line, with poor completions hurting the Falcons.
Mitchell Buckett and Patrick Templeman, former Coast juniors, were part of the Seagulls side that came away with the points yesterday afternoon, salting the wound of the Falcons, who now head into the bye next weekend before facing Mackay in Round 9.
