Big crowd gets major bull rush
Beach and bulls classic, Stockland Park
THE nation's top bull riders were put to the test at the Beach and Bulls Classic at a wet Stockland Park last night.
An enthusiastic crowd at the Sunshine Coast Stadium saw the thrills and spills of the Professional Bull Riders event, where the likes of series leader and two-time Australian champion David Kennedy and New Zealand champion Fraser Babbington competed for the winner's $5000 purse.
In round three of the PBR Touring Pro Division, the riders tried to hold their nerve against some of the country's most intimidating stock.
John Gill and Sons, from Wagga Wagga, provided some lively beasts which are synonymous in the bull riding industry.
The Gills' bulls, which regularly features on the PBR Australia Cup Series Tour, included Bambi's Blood, War Chief and Buck Owens.
